Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscopy is a widely used technique for photocoagulation in patients with retinal pathologies. The fibre-optic cables used for laser delivery are highly prone to damage and are the leading causes for breakdowns and costly repairs. This might affect the mobility and practice efficiency of doctors. In order to address this issue, Instruments team at Aarvind-Pondicherry have come up with a very diligent way of protecting the cable. A flexible corrugated wire tubing cable conduit pipe is used to cover the cable. This cost effective technique prevents repairs and helps in easy handling of the instrument.
