Non-contact Tonometry is a baseline screening investigation performed for all the patients attending the OPD. It is imperative that the patient focusses properly on a target during the test for accurate measurement of IOP. The puff of air released may often startle the patient, making them roll their eyes and hence not fixate properly. In our OPD, a diagram of the target is shown to the patient in order to familiarize them with the procedure. This decreases the patient’s apprehension and improves patient cooperation. This simple technique helps in making the procedure easy and fast for both the patients and the staff.
