Proper positioning of the patient is an essential component of any surgery. To ensure this, we have a marking rod where the appropriate height of the chair and the table is marked for each surgeon individually. The height adjusting mechanism in OR tables is operated by a foot switch usually. This position of the switch is very prone to wire damage and damage due to accidental spillage of irrigating fluids. The lifetime of the product is also reduced because of these inconveniences. We decided to move this to the side of the OR table fastening it with the help of tags. These are conveniently operated by MLOPs, heavily mitigating any potential damage. There is also the added ergonomic advantage for the surgeon as the strain on the spine is reduced. Overall, these small, but significant optimisations lead to seamless functioning of the OR.
